I suppose it’s one more for the pile, but it is ILLEGAL for a prosecutor to just unilaterally dismiss charges after sentencing. It has to go through the judicial process.
F*** Wayland

I suppose it’s one more for the pile, but it is ILLEGAL for a prosecutor to just unilaterally dismiss charges after sentencing. It has to go through the judicial process.
So does this:

No kidding.
Guess just ASKING someone’s age is good enough when you’re the government. No need to hold yourself to the standards you insist others need to meet.
That’s fair… I didn’t mean to single you out. There were a LOT of posts, and I suppose the emphatic and sarcastic nature of yours drew my attention.
That said, I meant this as a general statement to all the commenters of this nature, and your comment is just where it happened to land. I don’t have any personal grudge.
Your point is well taken, but whataboutism aside, EVERYONE should be obeying ALL the traffic laws. I cycle on public roads myself and I do see other cyclists not stopping at red lights. A bicycle IS a vehicle - it doesn’t come with pedestrian rights.
Or we can just keep escalating finger pointing and law-breaking until the traffic laws are meaningless everyone is dead.

Your mockery would carry more weight if YOUR plan had produced ANY results other than the fascism you CLAIM to abhor.
You abdicated your part in the only system in place that ALLOWS reigning in of government abuse because it didn’t perfectly give you what you wanted. That means until that system is replaced, you’re irrelevant. Reply if you want to - the same functional pattern recognition that lets me live with my choices lets me know that engaging with you is an exercise in futility - it’s boxing a ghost. I won’t read or respond to whatever response you care to make. I’ve seen it before, and you’ve seen the same responses I’ll make from people like me. There’s nothing more to be said until the collapse you seem so eager for completes.

All the Palestinian children saved by Trump’s victory salute you, sir.

Well considering it’s their PUBLIC BUSINESS PLAN, I don’t think you’re gonna have a hard time proving it.

No, don’t you see? When fighting a vastly more powerful and well equipped adversary, DON’T fight them at the ballot box where the balance gives you the best odds… Systematically undermine and destroy that system so you can fight them PHYSICALLY, where they have every single advantage. It’s more pure and noble that way.

Good. Maybe we can stop using a transient digital bathroom wall as a primary system of information distribution.
Only when you’re talking to a cop.

Nice, I hope Windows dies
Thanks for the new e-mail signature.
While I appreciate the logic, for me personally, if I’m going to be forcibly castrated by a Zoidberg either way, I’ll take that risk.
I mean, it’s better to be there with it than not be there at all, but in every way you’re better off not having it with you. Even off or in an EM bag, if they take it from you, they can look for ANY reason to hold you, and if they just SUSPECT you, the hole in your provider connection record is EXTREMELY suspicious. If you don’t have your phone and they don’t have photographic evidence of anything, then you were at home the whole day taking a nap. How will they prove otherwise? If you want to take photos or document what’s happening, a dumb camera is a smarter move.
Equally controversial fact:
I am not obliged by law or morality to follow what is written in your fucking book either way.
Use your phone if you HAPPEN to see something to record while incidentally out and about. If you’re SPECIFICALLY putting yourself out there to protest, document, or obstruct action, it’s insane to bring your actual phone - get a dumb digital camera. It comes with MUCH less liability, and from a purely practical point of view you don’t wind up trying to explain to your phone company why your phone being stomped into bits by a Nazi should be covered by the insurance. Not to mention you can pop the SD card and hide it if you need to. It’s just smarter.
I mean, it’s still a liability. If you get arrested, and they don’t have direct evidence of your doing something, your phone can’t incriminate you if they can’t get their hands on it.
I didn’t post them for HIM, I posted them for ME. It gives ME pleasure to see him getting the shit beat out of him and the Venn diagram overlap of “lemmy users” and “people who are likely to see two embarrassing photos of a shitstain influencer and proceed to do something that results in him getting money or exposure” is probably significantly small enough where I’m willing to risk it.
