This is in the context of personal defense. If you’re into shooting as a hobby, either for hunting or just plinking, sure there are plenty of excuses to expand your collection. For defense: rifle for an enemy down the road, pistol for an enemy in the yard, shotgun for an enemy in the hallway. Should be a sufficient load out for most people.

I’m generally pretty good at figuring out what I will and won’t like when ordering from a restaurant. The only reason I wouldn’t finish something I ordered is if I physically cannot force myself to swallow it. If it comes to that, and my wife doesn’t like it either, into the compost it goes.

I hate to say it, but look at reddit; it’s a legitimately great research resource for that kind of thing if you can recognize ads.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of touchscreen WiFi bullshit out there to spend stupid money on, but there are a few diamonds in the rough if you’re willing to look.
I can’t speak to outside the US in terms of exact models, but the techniques transfer. Don’t trust brand names, find reviews of specific models.The internet is full of dorks who go on forums to geek out on appliances, you just have to find them.

There are tons of models out there that cost half that much. Sure, there are fancy ones with wifi and touch screens you can spend $1000+ on, but a basic washer is like $4-600.

Criticism by itself doesn’t accomplish anything. Sure, mollifying centrists has not been ideal, but unless there’s an actionable alternative, it’s the best we’ve got at the moment. I’m all for alternatives, I just see a lot of social inertia and none of the alternatives I see are capable of offering a better outcome in the face of that inertia.
If you have a suggestion to elevate progressives into office, I would sincerely love to hear it; that is my preferred outcome. But complaining about the dominant strategy without offering an actionable alternative is, as the top comment identified, splitting the left.

Pretty sure mine are passive with a little speaker that selectively transmits low decibel sounds. If the batteries die, it’s still passive protection, I just don’t get to hear people talking.
