I never said poor people are more violent inherently, because that’s not true. You’re asserting that everywhere is equally violent, poor areas are just more viewed that way because crime is more highly reported and the perpetrators are not represented as well. If that’s not your point then how is reporting or representation pertinent to the conversation? You either think OP has an incorrect assertion or you don’t.

I’d love to see a source stating that everywhere is equally safe. I’ve been robbed at gunpoint before, it wasn’t in the fucking nice part of town. This is a stupid sentiment that blatantly ignores the reality of the situation. It’s also insulting to people who live in dangerous areas in my opinion.

Who says its like a lawless wasteland? If you go to an area in which crime is statistically higher, you are statistically more likely to be a victim of crime, how is my logic flawed? You realistically gonna tell me my neighborhood at night is the same level of danger as skid row CA at 9 pm? Im not talking about socioeconomic/racial/inequality here, I’m talking about math. It you think you can/should go anywhere whenever you want I promise you havent been to enough places.

Im always in my head about if I’m intimidating people. Particularly women if I’m taking a walk at night or on a trail. Like, I promise just because I look like an ogre doesn’t mean I am one.

Being 6’2 at 12 then 6’4 by the end of growing did wonders for me. I’m also pretty charismatic and generally kind to everyone. The height thing as well as a mostly positive upbringing gave me a lot of confidence, which I think is the main indicator of success or failure in dating. So, I’ve never had trouble but I have always struggled with the idea that if I didn’t have a girlfriend I was a loser. That mentality led me to stay in a few pretty toxic relationships for way too long.

Why aren’t we putting anyone who took advantage of an illegal workforce in prison? The workers should have a clear, quick and easy path to citizenship. The scumbags that made millions/billions off of them should be in prison.

After using reddit for years and Lemmy for months I’ve made some observations, YMMV though. I interact most heavily with ask type subs on both platforms. I’ve noticed a significantly further left lean here. I figured it’d be less moderated but I haven’t really found that to be the case. I’ve also noticed in some cases very crazy people have been banned/shadow banned off redit and end up here spewing wild shit. Opinions tend to be stronger here. Very long answers are more common here. Post creation in communities like this are generally better in my experience because replies are people who care to answer meaningfully or not at all. If I ask a question here I’ll get responses from the leftist/liberal/communist/anarchist/antirealist side of things exclusively. On reddit I’ll get leftist/liberal/left/right/alt right answers.
