What the fuck is wrong with you? You want Oil to stop our ability to explore the night skies?

The proposed $10bn, 3,000-hectare green hydrogen and ammonia production facility, known as INNA, included a port, transport links to the coast and three solar power plants, and had been under evaluation by Chile’s environmental regulator for almost a year.

Astronomers had warned repeatedly that its proximity to some of the world’s most powerful telescopes would have irreparably damaged observation in the area, which is the best site in the world for ground-based astronomy.

Wouldn’t it make MUCH more sense to shut down the ancient chemical in the US that pollute a hundred times more than anything in Chile?

Just to be clear, when its Chile, OIL is robbing us of the night sky. But when its the US that’s just the way it is and not a problem that needs to be solved. So America gets to cut down its forests and build whatever the fuck it wants, but its Chiles job to make sure that we can use telescopes.

Damn, you missed the entire point. Chile has the BEST night skies for astronomy in the world. Literally the clearest of any location on this globe. I don’t give a fuck about America polluting because the oil and gas facilities (which can be anywhere along the coast) are going to fuck up the SINGULAR BEST PLACE FOR VIEWING STARS WHILE ON TERRA FIRMA.

You are so focused on hating America that you don’t understand what we are actually talking about.

Right. They have the best place to view the night sky because it is undeveloped. How is this so hard for you to understand? You understand that there were other places that were great to view the night sky too, before they got built up. Are you seriously too stupid to understand this?

Yeah that’s not true bruh. Takes more than empty space. The only place even comparable is Mona Kea in Hawaii.

There’s lots of places in the world that are undeveloped that have terrible night skies. No, it’s the best because the Atacama Desert is the highest desert in the world with some of the lowest rainfall for non-arctic land.

What are you advocating? You seem intent on screaming about buildings or development but don’t seem to understand how special the area is that is being talked about.
