Also, you’d have to change the splash screen, the menu’s, etc. Just renaming the executable doesn’t really change the name of the program. You are making changes to it, which you’d have to check don’t break anything else every time there is an update.

That’d be IMT.

2·1 day agoI’ve not seen anyone mention fluxer before, have you been using it long, is it as good as their website claims? Seems strange no one else has mentioned it in many of the discord replacement threads going around if its as good as the website makes it sound.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Hey, guys. Is it a good idea to dunk PC parts in isopropyl alcohol?English
2·3 days agoTheir post didn’t sound like they were going to RUN it submerged in alcohol… Just dunking in the alcohol to clean it off. I don’t think mineral oil is going to help clean the parts much.
Yea… Forums were (are) great for something that Discord isn’t great at…

2·9 days agothat’s like 12 ounces of bourbon…
Also, you don’t really drink it… You definitely eat it with a spoon.
Also also, I definitely don’t have a recipe for it… I literally just learned from the commenter above me that it was OJ concentrate and booze… lol

Cooking @lemmy.world•What’s a food you love that everyone else seems to judge you for?English
2·9 days agoI don’t know if this counts, but grease. Especially pepperoni grease, the orange stuff. I will just run my finger through it and lick it off, or sop it up with bread of some kind (garlic knots are great for this).

8·9 days agoOh man, I don’t think I’ve ran into anyone else that knew what bourbon slush is. I had a friend growing up and it was a staple of their big family gatherings. I actually had no idea how they made it until now, but I would always get a couple of tubs to take home with me. Highlight of the year during my college years.
I’ve been using kDrive for a few years and it’s been pretty decent. Have been considering switching to Nextcloud though honestly… The kDrive linux app (.appimage) isn’t great and is basically (as far as I can tell) a closed-source fork of an old Nextcloud client.
My biggest hurdle for switching to Nextcloud honestly is too much choice… I know it’s dumb, but I can’t decide on a provider… lol

8·11 days agoIs there a way to make it easier for literally everyone else but conversely making it significantly more complicated specifically for reddit user “icankillpenguins”?
Wasn’t Sal’s Pizzeria on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares?
It’s like a disc of hot garbage. You should have went to Sal’s Pizza Cafe.
depends on the tamale, what you describe sounds like canned or ‘fast’ food tamales.

61·12 days agoI dunno, dementia-riddled old fuck’s is not my first choice to run the country. Being bought by donors is bad, but it’s a different problem. Just cause we need to fix one problem, doesn’t mean we should ignore all the other problems.

Technology@lemmy.world•Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney supports the $900 million lawsuit against Valve, arguing Steam is "the only major store still holding onto payment ties and 30% junk fee"English
311·12 days agoIt feels like all the other corpos are mad and want to sue Valve to force them into enshittification.
I’m all for holding companies accountable - when legal pressure forced Valve into creating a return policy, I was happy for that. But this is a $900 Million nothing burger imo. Publishers are mad they can’t get the exposure and sales numbers on a cheaper platform. Cheaper platforms are mad that they still can’t get people to switch to them by significantly under-cutting Steam. That’s (publishers) customers mad they have to pay a ‘premium’ (basically the ‘market rate’ for the service before epic decided to start under-cutting btw) for a better service and the competition mad that a LOT of (publishers) customers are willing to pay that ‘premium’.

Same. Tried manjaro twice, fully broken after a few months every time. Thought Linux was just too much work and I wasn’t smart enough. Been on Garuda for over 3 years without issue.
I feel like manjaro keeps people from adopting Linux. I have friends that will argue about my Linux experience because they tried manjaro and think that’s how all Linux is.
Stay away from Manjaro.
I’ve heard great things about Endeavor and Cachy, but personally use Garuda. Highly recommend it.

I disagree, it’s more like we want a burger, but the only options that are out there are a meat patty here, a bun over there, and one project somewhere claims to have invented cheese and ketchup but can’t get them together unless the burger is made of tofu and you have to add them yourself using chopsticks.
Discord already serves burgers, they are technically poisoned, but they are whole burgers with cheese and ketchup.
