Based upon the 1993 non-fiction book Howard Hughes: The Secret Life by Charles Higham, the film depicts the life of Howard Hughes, an aviation pioneer and supervisor of the movie Heck's Angels The movie represents his life from 1927 to 1947 throughout which time Hughes became an effective film manufacturer and an aeronautics tycoon while at the same time expanding more unpredictable due to severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
